What types of instruments do you sell?

We carry primarily acoustic stringed instruments, including guitars, banjos, mandolins, and ukuleles, all in a variety of shapes, sizes and models. We also have a few dulcimers, fiddles, bass guitars and ukeleles, and an upright bass. We’ve got combinations, too! Like a banjelele, a manditar, an 8-string ukelels and a resonator uke. We have both new and used instruments.

Do you offer lessons?

Yes! We have to independent instructors signing people up for beginner and intermediate guitar and have two lesson rooms available for use by anyone in the community interested in providing more advanced lessons for these and other acoustic instruments. We are also working with community partners to grow the availability of lessons for more types of instruments and skill levels. We also have jam sessions for different levels and are planning workshops for all skill levels, and more. We believe playing together, regardless of skill level, is the best thing for motivation and support.

Are you an authorized dealer for…?

Currently we are an authorized dealer for Troublesome Creek, Tone Devil, Deering, Pisgah, Klos, Eastman, Iris Guitars, Kala, National, Saga Music (Bristol, Kentucky, Blueridge, Cremona, Golden Gate), Madsen, Bourgeous, Gold Tone, Dunlop, Elixer, String Joy, String Swing, D’Addario, Fishman, Fender, TKL, ProPik, Franklin, Shubb, Elixir, Aquila, Snark.

Do you host jam sessions?

We host an open jam on Wednesdays 5-7 PM at the shop. We are also collaborating with Earth Goods to host Sunday Artcoustics from 2:30-5:30 every Sunday. Sunday Artcoustics is an acoustic open mic/jam together with an open community canvas project and options for other art projects. Earch Goods is just one block east of the shop at 301 East Front Street.

Do you carry accessories?

We have all the usual accessories: strings, picks, straps, tuners, music stands, and cases, as well as t-shirts, hats, and other merch. We’re keeping an eye out for other fun stuff to have at the shop. If you have any special requests, let us know!

Do you do repairs?

Yes! We offer a range of basic services in-house (restrint, set-up, adjustments) and are working with trusted partners to address high-end repairs.

Do you sell instruments online?

No, but we will ship instruments. We believe you need to see, touch, hold, and play your instrument, maybe even a few times, before you buy. We encourage you to come in and try a variety of shapes, sizes and types of woods to find the one that you connect with and want to play every day. If you’re just passing through town and decide later you’d like to buy one, give us a call and we will pack and ship.
